British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) offers eligible entrepreneurs, who are able to establish and run a successful business, along with their family members, a very bright opportunity to obtain the status of Permanent Residents, which further can be converted to citizenship on meeting the necessary requirements.

But, to achieve the same, the applicant has to follow the process. To begin with, you need to meet the eligibility requirements for BC PNP entrepreneur stream. If you qualify, you can make a formal Expression of Interest (EOI). If you have a competitive score and you clear the cut off, you will be invited to apply during periodic draws that happen to select the best suited and highest ranked candidates from the pool.

ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA –

  • Applicant must possess a minimum net worth of CAD $600,000(inclusive of cash, assets in bank accounts, fixed deposits, properties, investments, etc).
  • This net worth must be legally obtained and verifiable if the applicant is invited to apply.
  • A post-secondary education credential or experience as an active business owner-manager with 100 per cent ownership of the business for at least three of the past five years.
  • Applicant must have

a. more than three years of experience as an active business owner-manager,

OR

b. more than four years of experience as a senior manager,

OR

c. a combination of at least one year of experience as an active business owner-manager and at least two years of experience as a senior manager.

  • Submit a business plan that demonstrates an active and ongoing management role in the day-to-day operations of the proposed business by the applicant and the creation of at least one new job in the proposed B.C. business.
  • Applicant cannot change the business plan after submitting a registration.
  • An applicant must demonstrate that he/she can and will make an eligible personal investment of at least CAD $200,000 in the proposed business. If proposing a Key Staff Member, applicant must demonstrate an eligible personal investment of CAD $400,000.
